We are a group of intelligent people who found ourselves regularly engaged in conversation about the increasing stupidity we were encountering in our daily lives. Rather than just commiserate and complain about the problem, we decided to do something about it!

It occurred to us that the problem was getting worse at an alarming rate and was beginning to affect some of our family members, friends, co-workers – and even more so, people in management and on television. With the increase in texting while driving and other dangerously dumb behavior, we recognized that beyond being annoying, it was actually beginning to threaten our very lives and the lives of our loved ones. Every day we were encountering people doing and saying idiotic things. While many have succumbed to defeat, accepting the adage, “You can’t fix stupid,” we believe that there is something we can do, something ALL of us can do — we can THINK!!

We established the Society for Mental Acuity & Rational Thinking (SMART) to raise awareness about the downward spiral of humanity and to encourage people to use their brains to combat stupidity. If you are a person who is astute enough to see this sad trend toward complete idiocy, we encourage you to join us in this extremely important cause. THINK FOR THE CURE!
